In Memory of Wasatch

Today is the 1 year anniversary of losing our wonderful Wasatch. It doesn't seem like it has been a year. We have missed him so much, and still mourn his loss. I have from the beginning known that I would do a special tribute page for him, but somehow
it has been such an emotional thing for me. I haven't thought that I could possibly put down any words that match the feelings I have. Like nothing I could say could be good enough. And I can't really. But I realize that I just can't let this anniversary pass without attempting. Somehow that feels wrong and ungrateful to me. So, I have created my page, my tribute, and I feel good about doing it.
He was a good dog.

Sisters dressed alike

This picture was taken a day or so after Christmas. Erica had just bathed and dressed Asha. It just so happened that Priya was wearing a sweater in the same print as Asha's top. Priya scooped up her sister in her arms and I took this photo. They look like sisters, don't they?

Anu's 40th Birthday Party

Saturday night was the party to celebrate Anu's 40th birthday. I had the chance to snap a few pictures as the party was just beginning, because we stopped in to pick up baby Asha.
The house was beautifully decorated. You can see the cake above, and the Sushi chefs preparing the colorful sushi rolls... And here is a family picture of everyone looking absolutely stunning, don't you agree? I'm sure everyone had a wonderful time!
(just click on the picture if you want to enlarge it for a closer view.)

and here are a few more pictures taken that evening:

What a Sweet Thing to Say!

Just a reminder that I have an ongoing project of collecting cute things the grandkids say. Some day it will be a book when I have enough to fill it. Here is something that Taj said the other day. And I know he meant it with all his heart!!

See Asha growing...

Here are a couple of digital scrapbook pages for Asha's scrapbook. This bathtime photo was taken just after Christmas when she was turning 4 months old. Isn't she adorable?

And going back in time, here is Asha when she was still just days old. Can you imagine anything sweeter than this?

My Wonderful Parents

These 2 pages are a set and view best as left and right. They will have to be viewed top and bottom here, but you get the picture. I can never really put into words just how much my parents mean to me, but here are a couple of examples of how they have touched my life.
You can click on them to enlarge if you can't read the text.

They've been globed!

Snow Globed, that is. It snowed while we were in Denver. Rajiv and the kids went out to shovel the driveway. I took a picture of them, and have magically saved them inside a snow globe.

Santa's Visit / Babys First Christmas

We made the trip to Denver this year and spent time with Erica's family for Christmas. It was lots of fun! The kids got to open a gift on Christmas Eve... It was Christmas Pajamas! This has been a tradition in my family from way back. (Christmas PJ's) And even though we always knew what it would be, we looked forward to it. There's nothing like brand new jammies to be wearing on Christmas morning.

Priya and Taj put out cookies and milk for Santa. They were not surprised the next morning, to see that he had accepted their offering. Probably enhancing the ability of his round little belly to shake like a bowl full of jelly.
They did not overlook the Reindeer either. The Reindeer got baby carrots. And the day after Christmas, the kids looked out in the yard, which was full of deer tracks. Really, truly! And their faces lit up with the thought that while Santa was in the house filling their stockings, the Reindeer were in their yard pawing about and enjoying the baby carrots. It was positively proof of the magic of Christmas!

The kids set straight to work opening gifts from Santa, and family. They were pro's at unwrapping gifts, and could move so quickly that Grammie got lots of blurry shots, just like the one below!

What was especially wonderful this Christmas, was that the family now numbered five. This was Ashas first Christmas. She dressed up in her Christmas PJ's, too. She looks wonderful in red! (in every color really!) She is the sweetest baby! She is starting to be interested in interacting with everyone around her. And is interested in toys and colorful items you hold in front of her. She has a happy disposition, and she sleeps through the night... I could go on and on...
Here is a scrapbook layout for her. It is time to get an album started for her! No time to waste :-) *Remember you can click on these to see them bigger.
