ASHA'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!

In August we visited Denver for the celebration of Asha's first Birthday (Aug 27th). In fact Asha had both both sets of her grandparents there, which made it extra special!

Erica put together a beautiful presentation in pinks and greens, and just the perfect touches!
She had the cake designed to go with the fabric backdrop. I made a poster-size version of her 1 yr announcement.

Asha dressed in pink and white, with a cupcake embellishment. So sweet!

The theme of the party was a Teddy Bear Picinic. There was a small Bear for each child.

Each child got a lunch box filled with a delicious lunch. (Priya was such a big help getting these all packed and ready for the party). Both Priya and Taj were a great help to their mom getting everything set up and ready.

The picnic was fun for the kids.

After lunch they all enjoyed the jumpy castle.

There was a special small size cake just for Asha.

However, she was not real impressed with it... and the more sticky frosting she got on her fingers, the less impressed she became ; )

But she was all smiles when the time came for her to try out some of her new toys!

Priya comes to town!

(I'm so behind here, so trying to catch up... This story took place on August 16th)

Priya had a chance to come to town with her Daddy, and stay for a week to have fun with her cousins.
It was the perfect opportunity for her to meet her newest little cousin Ellie. Well, it comes as no surprise that she was completely smitten! She held the new baby and admired her pretty hair and sweet little face, and her tiny hands and feet. She demonstrated for us, her special technique of calming a crying baby by putting in the binkie, and then lightly pressing on the tip of the nose. And it seemed to be working for her, lol!

We then all went to Priya's favorite restaurant (The Olive Garden) for dinner. After she enjoyed her pasta e fagioli soup and breadsticks, she was given the choice of being directly driven back to her paternal grandparents home, or... going back to Justin and Becky's first. She gave it some thought, and quickly decided that she wanted to go back and have one more chance to hold little baby Ellie.

This meeting and these pictures are just the beginning of joyful times among cousins.

And how about this sweet picture of little Ellie with her Daddy! (Her little yawn is contagious!) I am yawning now as I type : )
