One moment from this holiday, celebrating our freedom really stands out to me. It had such an impact, and I wanted to be sure I didn't forget it... so I made it into a scrapbook page. The moment made me want to burst into tears, but I didn't notice that effect on everyone else in the room...so maybe it is an individual reaction. I thank my father for imparting his strong feelings of love of country and appreciation of freedom... I remember fondly the many times over the years, as children, we watched his special slide show presentation "This is My Country" complete with patriotic music and his beautiful photography from around the U.S.A. Thanks Dad.
Here is the page that I mention. ( you can click on it to make it easier to read.)
We joined Becky, Justin, and little Ellie for a get-together on the fourth of July. We grilled burgers and had your standard picnic foods. Ellie was so cute in her red-white-blue outfit. She has just started walking and can take several steps before she falls. She was not overly impressed with fireworks. What did we expect, right? This is her first 4th of July, so she needs a 2 page layout for her scrapbook, or at least I thought so. ; )
